Growing up climbing in Malaysia, Outdoor Research Product Manager Sara Nazim saw an opportunity to build a technical hijab that eliminates the need for pins for a secure fit. This helmet-optimized hijab has a fitted stretchy knit around the face. The hidden shock cord back adjustment cinches the hijab down for high-exertion activity and keeps hair off the neck. The ActiveIce cooling fabric combined with lightweight UPF 50+ sun protection makes this hijab perfect for all day in the outdoors. Our prototyping included athletes, our hijab-wearing manufacturing team in Indonesia, and fit sessions on different head sizes and hair types. The result is a technical hijab perfect for active outdoor pursuits.
