It combines the stretch you’d expect from a softshell with the waterproof, breathable protection you need. Most softshells lack the proper protection for powdery weather, but the Khroma Kinetic’s membrane boasts waterproof, breathable ratings as high as 20/25K respectively. Unlike most softshells, the Khroma Kinetic stretches and breathes to keep comfy when the powder’s more spring slush than actual snow. Plus, there are one-way, full-length zippers to amplify airflow on spring ascents. Rab designed it with a regular fit for easy layering, and knee articulations make sure you can high-step through steep sections without an issue. The suspension system is easy to adjust, and the back features Matrix stretch fabric for enhanced breathability and a snug fit. The pant cuffs are large enough for ski boots, and Rab reinforced them to withstand the occasional crampon scrape. Internal snow gaiters keep powder out of your ski boots. A plethora of ski-specific pockets provide plenty of storage for topos, snacks, valuables, and electronics. Drop-seat functionality allows quick access during bathroom breaks.
